Friends

Being that it's the weekend seemed like the perfect time to post about yet another NYC weekend brunch. This one was extra special because a couple of my besties, Jordan and Olivia flew into town to help me celebrate my birthday a little bit early. Their trip was filled with lots of festivities, but nothing says welcome to the city like a good ol' boozey brunch. We hit up Agave, a nearby Mexican restaurant that has top notch margaritas...which also happen to be unlimited during brunch!

Of course stop #1 is always for coffee. I became THAT girl who takes pictures of her coffee art, but aren't they just so cute?

Round 1, Round 2.

Note to self: you know a margarita is good (and strong) when it's not green.

Double fisting at its finest.

Deep discussion.

Jordan got the Southwestern style eggs benedict complete with chipotle hollandaise. I got some incredibly delicious huevos rancheros. Olivia ordered french toast at our Mexican brunch so her food doesn't get a picture, I hear it was very tasty though.

The best part of the brunch: present time!

Happy off our margarita buzz, we decided to take a stroll through my hood.

Look familiar? Our stroll took us by Carrie's apartment from Sex and the City.

More of our assorted adventures to come. Stay tuned!

XO,
Lo

Hundred Acres

This past week Mom was in town to celebrate her birthday. We fully celebrated with an Italian night and Broadway, but I still owed her a Mother's Day gift. Brunch seemed an obvious choice. That way I got to benefit too! ;) I have a long list of NYC restaurants I've been wanting to try. After some debating I landed on Hundred Acres. It's a farm to table, Southern infusion restaurant that's beautiful and nearby my apartment. (Not to mention, it's visited by a certain blonde socialite on Gossip Girl.) What's not to love?

The menu is always changing. You can count that the ingredients will always be fresh and your food will be delicious.

Subway tile and marble counters are both components of my future dream kitchen.

Bellinis to start, cin cin!

The space had lots of big windows that allowed the sun to pour through. They were beautiful, but proved to be a problem for my picture taking.

We just couldn't pass up the ricotta fritters. They're served warm and drizzled with honey and powdered sugar.

When I looked at the menu online this caught my eye, and I had been dreaming about it ever since: goat cheese bread pudding with spinach, poached eggs, and lemon butter. MMMMM

Mom went for the egg scramble with a bunch a fresh veggies and a big hunk of cornbread. Truly Southern.

In hindsight the fritters on top of the bread pudding on top of the cornbread might have been a little too decadent, but I don't regret it in the slightest.

After brunch we just happened to stumble upon a once a year street fair that was taking place just a couple blocks away from my apartment. It was a beautiful day and we needed to walk off our carbo-loaded brunch, so we decided to take a stroll.

How much is that doggie in the window??

XO,
Lo

Friends

I hardly even know where to begin to fully depict just how wonderful our trip to NYC was.

Mere, Jordan, and I decided a few months back that we suddenly had the perfect excuse to visit New York. Our sweet, little Lo was conquering the Big Apple and we were ready to take the city by storm.

Mere and I arrived first with plenty of rain to greet us. Mother Nature couldn't stop us from exploring, but it did stop me from photographing the day. We hunkered down for a boozy brunch with unlimited mimosas and bloody Mary's. Then we popped in an out of shops along 5th and Madison Avenue until we were good and damp.

The pouring rain turned into a drizzle and we set out for the Broadway show Kinky Boots. It received a standing ovation that was most certainly well deserved. With the entertainment portion of the evening satisfied we decided to fill our hungry tums with some Mediterranean style tapas at Kashkaval.

Despite our Christmas blues, who doesn't love seeing twinkling lights draped along a quiet street.
We rested up preparing for day 2. Lo being the working woman she is had to oblige to her Kate Spade internship. She was most certainly missed.

Mere and I got beautifully lost through the boroughs of West Village, Soho, and Tribeca. We spent our day popping in and out of bookstores, quaint little restaurants, and neighborhood pubs. It was lovely.

Our first stop, Washington Square Park.
There surely is a story behind this rose. Take a gander?

Amongst the many long conversations we shared, she is the one gal who never fails to challenge me intellectually. I love Mere dearly because we love to go deeper than just your typical girl talk. It was much to our dismay that we could use a little brushing up on world history with the warm comfort of a spot of tea.

As we faced the brisk cold, we ventured down some quiet streets of Soho where we found the most charming restaurant that seemed perfectly appropriate for lunch. It was called Antique Garage.

Turkish coffee was exactly what we needed to continue on our quest.

Though I did not document our mosey through Tribeca and pit stop at the corner pub, Soho Room. It was the perfect way to close our afternoon stroll before we met up with Lo and Jordan for dinner.

It was time to head to the Top of the Rock for some impeccable skyline views.

Best friends reunited and sharing laughs.

Don't forget to pop back in for more on NYC.

XO,
Bee
