The Happiest Place on Earth: Part 2

Our second day at Disney World was a busy one. We kicked it off with a morning in Animal Kingdom.

I thought that safari ride would be a bit cheesy but I was pleasantly surprised with all our animal sightings...and Liam's photography skills. He took over the camera for this ride.

Expedition Everest is hands down my new favorite ride. Up, down, backwards, in the dark, it does it all. We got a bit nervous while listening to other riders scream while in line, but after getting off we were ready to do it all again.

After we finished at Animal Kingdom we hopped on over to Epcot. It's not my favorite Disney park, but I have always liked the world showcase. It's essentially a bunch of mini versions of countries all packed in together.

Our hotel gets it own special shoutout because it was so charming. We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn, a throwback to the Atlantic City boardwalk in the early 1900s. The hotel itself has its own actual boardwalk and is made to look like a bunch of different buildings put together.

Notice the Mickey head towel art. No detail goes unnoticed when you're at Disney

Lounging in the lobby.

Our last morning at the hotel we decided to rent a surrey bike for the full boardwalk experience. They were lots of fun but a little harder to maneuver than I expected. Lets just say I wasn't allowed to sit in front where all the real effort took place.

A Disney wedding complete with a Cinderella carriage to whisk you away? Talk about magical.

The Happiest Place on Earth: Part 1

I'm currently in the middle of an extended vacay spanning from Florida back home to Indiana. This year the fam decided to kick off our annual Florida trip at Disney World. My brother and sister-in-law just happened to have a work conference there and needed someone to entertain my nephew. My parents happily volunteered and I wasn't about to miss any action at the happiest place on earth. (Our family are suckers for anything Disney). Magic Kingdom is the epitome of Disney magic, so we started our trip there.

Pluto getting on the kids' level.

I think Liam was feeling pretty cool, being that this is as close as he'll get to driving for a few more years.

Mickey bars are quite the tradition in our family. They have to happen every time we go to Disney, and on this particular trip they happened every day. I'm not sure if it's the perfectly fudgy coating or the fact that you're in Disney World eating an ice cream Mickey head that makes them so wonderful.

Just a little princess making her way through the kingdom.

It might be the cheesiest ride, but I still love It's a Small World.

Once the sun goes down the castle puts on an incredible light show followed by fireworks.

At this point of the day he was pretty tired of my camera.

Magic.

Lo

Just Beachy

My beachy days are almost up and it's a cryin' shame. I wish it would never end.

We headed out on the town for some good ole Alabama cookin' at the Oyster House. Jared and I are terribly predictable with our fried shrimp platters and cheesy grits. EB doesn't eat seafood (we're working on her). Mom really knows how to order as she got the Butter Pecan Mahi with a loaded bake potato and key lime pie with heaps of whip cream for dessert. Dad had the catch of the day which was Red Snapper. I didn't get to sneak a pic of his entree unfortunately.

Our dinner view. I bet there are crocs in those waters. Chomp chomp.

 For the children

We have to take lots of photos when we are actually clean and fully clothed. Otherwise it's sun tan lotion scent and bathing suits all week long.

 So strong.

This is what I deal with.

Well that's all folks. Beach time is coming to an end. Back to reality. All good things must come to an end I suppose.

Bee
